Cognitive function
The largest randomised trial, over twelve months in older adults with subjective cognitive decline, found no significant benefit on memory. An earlier three-month pilot had suggested an effect, which is a familiar pattern when small studies meet larger ones.
What may be going on: Spermidine induces autophagy through inhibition of acetyltransferase EP300, which extends lifespan in several model organisms.
Not enough evidence. Not enough human research to say anything useful yet.
