Exercise performance
Meta-analyses report a small improvement in endurance performance with 1–6 g of taurine taken before exercise. The trials are small and heterogeneous, and much of the popular association with taurine comes from energy drinks where caffeine is the active ingredient.
Limited evidence. Early human work, or mostly lab and animal research.
