Blood glucose response
Pooled trials report reductions in fasting glucose and HbA1c, mostly at seed doses of 5 grams or more per day. Trials are small and heterogeneous, and much of the effect may simply reflect a large dose of soluble fibre.
What may be going on: Galactomannan fibre slows carbohydrate absorption; 4-hydroxyisoleucine has been reported to stimulate insulin secretion in laboratory models.
Limited evidence. Early human work, or mostly lab and animal research.
