Blood glucose response
Pooled trials report reductions in fasting glucose, but results split sharply by region and trial quality, and effects on HbA1c are small and inconsistent. Reviewers generally conclude the evidence does not support cinnamon as a glucose-lowering intervention.
What may be going on: Cinnamon polyphenols have been reported to affect insulin receptor signalling in cell models.
Limited evidence. Early human work, or mostly lab and animal research.
